The City of Lawton has announced that the play area at East Side Park is temporarily closed due to active construction on the future Lawton–Fort Sill Sports Plex. Heavy equipment is now on‑site, and the area has officially transitioned into a construction zone.
For everyone’s safety, residents are asked to avoid the site and follow all posted signs and barriers while work is underway. These improvements are part of a larger effort to expand recreational opportunities and create new spaces for families, athletes, and community events.
