Taron Epps, for Ward 2 City Council

Taron Epps

Serving our Community. Strengthening our Future.

Values. Family. Results.

Lawton deserves leadership that listens, works hard, and delivers measurable results. I believe in supporting what is working, improving what is not, and making decisions that strengthen our neighborhoods, our families, and our future.

Together, we can build a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Ward 2.

His approach to public service is grounded in listening, problem‑solving, and strengthening the community through steady, measurable progress.

He believes every decision should be guided by one simple question: “Will this make Lawton better for families?”

Taron isn’t running to become a career politician. He is running because he believes strong communities are built through servant leadership, common‑sense decision‑making, and a commitment to results that improve everyday life for the people of Ward 2.

My Priorities

Continue What Is Working

Lawton has made meaningful progress, and we should continue building on that momentum.

Roads & Infrastructure

Continue investing in streets, utilities, and neighborhood infrastructure while improving accountability and communication on every project.

Parks & Neighborhoods

Every family deserves clean, safe, and accessible parks. Maintain our flagship parks while investing in neighborhood parks throughout the city.

Economic Development

Support private investment, recruit high-paying employers, and encourage manufacturing, defense, aerospace, and small business growth.

Fort Sill Partnership

Fort Sill remains Lawton’s greatest economic asset. Every opportunity to strengthen that partnership should be pursued.

The Issues

What We Can Do Better

Better Communication

Residents deserve clear, consistent updates about city projects, tax dollars, and community progress.

I support:

  • Monthly project updates
  • Easier-to-understand reporting
  • Greater citizen engagement
    Homelessness

Homelessness is a community challenge that requires practical solutions.

I support partnerships between local government, churches, nonprofits, and service organizations focused on measurable results.

    Growing Local Business

Residents shouldn’t have to leave Lawton for every shopping or entertainment need.

I support recruiting destination retail, encouraging entrepreneurs, and creating an environment where businesses want to invest.

    Public Safety

Crime continues trending downward, but perception often hasn’t caught up with reality.

I will continue supporting law enforcement while improving communication about public safety successes and continuing crime reduction efforts.

    Flooding & Drainage

Long-term infrastructure planning must remain a priority.

We should address recurring flooding problems before they become larger, more expensive issues.

    Creating Opportunity

    Growing good-paying jobs means supporting:

    • Manufacturing
    • Defense Industry
    • Small Businesses
    • Workforce Development
    • Entrepreneurship

    MY VALUES

    • Faith

    • Integrity

    • Accountability

    • Family

Every decision should strengthen our community and improve the quality of life for the families who call Lawton home.
